Stroytransgaz has completed welding the linear part of a new section of oil pipeline as part of a project for the Caspian Pipeline Consortium. The new facility replaces the pipeline section between the 0-kilometer and the 116-kilometer marks in Atyrau Oblast, in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Stroytransgaz signed the contract for this work with the Caspian Pipeline Consortium-K, customer for the project, in January 2008.

Stroytransgaz has begun welding the linear part of the Taweelah-Fujairah gas pipeline—a 244-kilometer, 48-inch facility in the United Arab Emirates. The contract for the project was signed in June 2008 on EPC terms with customer Dolphin Energy Ltd. An official delegation from Stroytransgaz, with Management Board Chairman Vyacheslav Makhonin at its head, visited the UAE, took part in a coordination meeting with managers from Dolphin Energy, and examined construction objects along the linear portion of the gas pipeline.

Stroytransgaz has successfully completed a recertification audit of its environmental management system. The audit confirmed that the company’s system meets international standard ISO 14001:2004. At its conclusion, Moody International Certification Group also awarded Stroytransgaz a certificate attesting to compliance with the Russian standard in this area, GOST R ISO 14001-2007. The certificates are effective to December 13, 2011.

Stroytransgaz has begun welding the linear part of the Malai-Bartyyarlyk gas pipeline in Turkmenistan. The pipeline will run 184.54 kilometers and have a diameter of 1,420 millimeters. State company Turkmengaz is customer for the project. In April 2008 Stroytransgaz and Turkmengaz concluded a contract for the project on EPC (engineering, procurement, construction) terms.

A consortium comprising Stroytransgaz (consortium leader) and the Russian-Greek joint enterprise Prometheus Gas S.A. signed a contract today with Greek state company DESFA S.A., operator of the nation’s gas transportation system. The 53.4-million-euro contract provides for construction of the Nea Messambria compressor station along the Kulata-Athens gas pipeline in the area of Saloniki, Greece.

A delegation from Stroytransgaz, with Chairman of the Management Board Vyacheslav Makhonin at its head, has completed a visit to Saudi Arabia. As part of that trip, the delegation met with senior management of state-owned oil and gas company Saudi Aramco, customer for the Sheiba-Abqaiq oil pipeline, which Stroytransgaz is now building. Saudi Aramco managers commended the Russian company for the high quality of its work on the pipeline.
